We welcome the arrival of Sean Penn film, The Crossing Guard, Blu-Ray. Exceptional work, staged in 1995, and the second feature film from the gifted actor-filmmaker, the film was previously available on laserdisc and DVD formats, but no editing made a sufficient technical homage to the film light and dark time. The HD edition, available from Miramax, the United Kingdom (Zone B), 1.85 offers an image correctly without special remastering. The biggest surprise, other than to rediscover the film comes from the soundtrack, finally presented in uncompressed digital sound.
