I n the darkness, a man writes, lives and loves. Fourteen years ago he was in a brutal car accident in which he not only lost his sight but died when Lena, the love of his life. This man has two names: Harry Caine, a playful pseudonym with which he signs his literary works, stories and scripts, and Mateo Blanco, his real name, under which he lives and signs the film he directs. After the accident, Mateo Blanco reduces his pseudonym, Harry Caine. To the extent that he can not direct films he survive with the idea that Mateo Blanco died with Lena, the woman he loved, in the accident.
Now, Harry Caine lives thanks to the scripts he writes and the help of his faithful former production manager, Judit García, and son of the latter, Diego. Since he decided to live and tell stories, Harry is a very active and attractive blind who has developed all his other senses to enjoy life, on a basis of irony and amnesia that has voluntarily chosen or, more precisely, it has emerged. He deleted all of his biography what happened fourteen years ago. He no longer mentioned, it raises more questions; the world has been quick to forget Mateo Blanco and he himself is the first not to want to resurrect ... A story of amour fou, dominated by fatality, jealousy and treachery. A story whose image is the most telling picture of Lena and Mateo, torn to pieces.
Almodovar's latest production, very noticed at the last Cannes Film Festival, and quite a resounding critical success, is preparing to make its appearance on Blu-Ray Zone B. Pathé indeed offer the film in 1080p and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (spanish version, logically) from the 2 December. To date, nothing has filtered from editorial content, but we have no doubt of the ability of the vendor to offer relevant modules, if only for the usual "photo gallery", always presented in HD. The delicate mix of Marc Orts (and the score by Alberto Iglesias) should easily be highlighted by the lossless audio track that mark (unless our error) the first uncompressed soundtrack of a film master's in hexagon, pending the reissue of its previous stagings in various editors.
