A large number of our fellow North Americans come to confirm the arrival of the classic Steven Spielberg, Saving Private Ryan, who is then finally presented in High Definition. On this occasion, Paramount is preparing an edition of a series "Sapphire". In the past, number of titles in this collection were zoned area "A" only, which made them unreadable in Zone B Verification ... therefore required, but either way, a French edition also will be available shortly. For now, only the edition zone A will be available from 4 May.
Scheduled for May 4, this edition will present the film in 1080p Full HD, and will be accompanied by a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. Needless to say it will be necessary that the wait is comparable to the expectations. In our case, and you know if you read for nearly ten years, the limited edition DVD DTS (zone 1 in its time) we were never entirely satisfactory acoustic field, due to too much trace of réégalisation, signs and audio compression very audible. At the time, we had concluded that this soundtrack, one of the most violent ever heard, had unfortunately been a victim of rehabilitation for its video operations, the domestic market. With its high end sadly dressed, and very readable mediums, the DVD was located behind the dining experience ... Let's hope that this edition will bring its share of HD fixes, restore and, finally, the soundtrack to the film set forward its full potential.

No details have filtered to date regarding a possible 4K remastering of the film so singular used during filming. The colors were in fact desaturated laboratory. Eastman film (Kodak EXR 5293, exposed at 400 ASA) also offers a vision comparable to period films, which have documented the various stages of WWII.
Supplements on the side, this edition promises to be full, full. Judge for yourself:
- Introduction by Director Steven Spielberg
