J ohn's a good man: a good mason, a good son, good father and good husband. And in his daily life smoothly between family and work, he crosses paths with Mademoiselle Chambon, the teacher of his son. He is a man of few words, it comes from a different world. They will be overwhelmed by the evidence of feelings.
It is also the first time Sandrine Kiberlain and Vincent Lindon partners are on the screen since their separation at the city-the two actors were married in 1998, a daughter was born of this union. They had previously played opposite three times in The Undecided Jean-Pierre Ronssin (the film he met in 1993) and Seventh Heaven by Benoît Jacquot (1997), finally in Single Girls Pierre Jolivet (2003)
The director talks about what attracted him in the book and the adaptation work: "It's actually a simple story. This is not the plot that grabbed me but how Eric Holder reflected the emotions of these humble people. With his tools as a novelist, he spoke of them with a fragility and an emotion that seemed to say, "This is what you have to shoot, this is what you should you dare to confront." With Florence Vignon, we then set to work to adapt this book. And on arrival, we did probably not suitable. I sent the script to Eric Holder when we completed our work. In return, we wrote a beautiful letter in which he told us, "is less an adaptation than an extension, an enrichment, an unveiling of an emotion that the novel was trying to transmit. "

Rendering sound very nuanced, almost sluggish at times, allowing them to stage lavish silences and unspoken that bathe the film. The subwoofer channel is non-existent shows and behind the scene, the main focus being at the heart of the front soundstage, the center lane. Where a track encoded in Dolby Digital 5.1, on a DVD edition for example, would have introduced distortions negligent, not respecting the integrity of voice completely, the codec DTS-HD Master Audio ensures a constant of this son of acoustic drivers film. As little as it is powerful (it is undoubtedly the most gentle mixing and less hectic it is), the track DTS-HD Master Audio maintains a kind of intensity into the innumerable silences, guaranteeing perfect sound intact, washed of any compression. Miraculous in its discretion, the mix is only grown and purified, while gaining undoubtedly in the presence and density.
