D TS-Phile had to open a new section dedicated to 3D called "relief". This new technology, yet very accessible, is reinforced every day, and begins to populate the shelves of stores and special installations. The so-called active 3D promises an unprecedented immersion in the image, but we must recognize that if the method has strong advantages and regularly managed to convince the rating scale is even more subjective, and will really depend on the vision of each. It is also pertinent to recognize that many defects and other artifacts tarnished, sometimes very severely, rendering the image in relief.
For these reasons, and while continuing the strong link that binds the images to sounds, our reviews of published titles on Blu-Ray offer a rating scale which we summarize as follows: category, first time, permitting an assessment of some key areas (functional or notional) of the perception of three-dimensional effect into relief:
These categories are added six levels of rating / evaluation, which can provide a comprehensive (albeit necessarily subjective, but still takes into account the objective) criteria discussed above. Thus, 3D immersion offered by each as chronicled by us will be granted the following values:
